Lines of Beauty

Since reading about Hogarth´s lines of beauty in his theory of aeshetics, I have been fascinated by the idea and concept and wanted to find ways to apply this to give it most utmost prominence. This work started with a watercolored cerrulean sky and then added a maintstem and feathered offshoots to what appears to be a landscape scene. I say appears as the intent was strictly formal in showing a series of flattened serpentine feather shapes that illustrate Hogarth´s ideas. Interesting exploration, I thought, and maybe you will agree. This was done in late March and before our trip to Oklahoma and Missouri to see family. It is good to be working again.
