Texturing the Green Man

Instead of the usual layer of primer or gesso before beginning a painting on wood, this one dispensed with that for the benefit of using the texture of the wooden board to give the Green Man a more natural look. I think it worked, but you may not. Let me know the impression it made. I mainly used colored ink and a dab of watercolor, primarily cerulean blue, to bring this image alive.
