This painting of Casilda was done on a canvas of 20 x 35 cms. This woman is a hero in Colombia known from freeing the slaves after 10 years of waiting.  It is based on the only known photo of this remarkable woman and liberator from Palmira, Colombia, a sugar cane town near Cali.
